2022 Annual Review
My words of the year were:
Courageousness
Integration, Integrated, integrity
1. What went well this year?
Three years being married, two years as a dog mum.
Moved out of Australia with my husband, our dog and all our belongings.
Bought a new car and built my confidence back up as a driver.
Spent five months in France.
Drove to Portugal, found and bought a house there.
Moved to Portugal in our new house.
Found an amazing place for our dog where he is learning to become more social.
Attended my grandpa 100th birthday and spent Christmas with my family.
Got a visit from my spiritual teacher in our new home.
Kept up with my spiritual practice for the entire year and have been unrelenting with my process to do the work (inner work and outer work).
Received lots of support along the way, sometimes from the most unexpected places and people.
New friendships formed.
Deep feeling of gratitude.
I am the most aligned I have ever been.
New phone, laptop and headphones.
It’s been my biggest year in terms of manifestations.
My organisational, planning and practical skills got a solid workout all year long and helped me a lot.
Started a morning pages routine which got me writing regularly again.
Digital journalling for better tracking and measurement.
Learning Portuguese.
2. What didn’t go so well this year?
Lots of stress due to the amount of change and uncertainty faced.
Put extra weight on and struggling to lose it.
Stopped exercising regularly when I left Australia and stopped PT sessions.
Disappointment and hurt from some people and situations.
Lots of “surprises”, unplanned and unforeseen situations which called for some real-time course correction and readjustments.
Mars retrograde in Gemini and Gemini full moon have been challenging.
Not much time for my own business which has gone backwards compared to the previous year.
Still stuck with fear when it comes to self promotion and being seen.
Fell behind with the online program I invested in to help with the above.
Finding “my place in the world” remains my mountain to climb.
My dog, though he’s improving, is very reactive especially after the many changes he went through. This made going for walks a real chore.
I witnessed people who are so self-absorbed in their own world that they don’t have the capacity, willingness to empathise with others nor to show any interest in anything else other than themselves.
3. What did I learn this year?
Took resilience and detachment to a deeper level.
To let go of expectations.
Active patience, divine timing and faith.
I need stability to keep up with a supportive and healthy routine.
Portuguese people in the north are kind and generous beyond measure.
Saying no is becoming easier with practice. Especially: No, it’s not okay. No, it’s not good enough. No, that’s enough.
Do not shadow dance under any circumstances, especially with family.
My work and my time are sacred, they need to be treated as such - especially by me.
Most people don’t want to commit and don’t want to do the work. Therefore, filter wisely.
Portuguese as a language doesn’t not sound the way it reads.
Never say the dog will never sleep in the bedroom.
When I cut my hair short, it curls.
Personal responsibility, accountability, ownership and respect are a prerequisite to any kind of relationships in my life.
People who value a relationship have time and energy for the relationship and are willing to “repair” if it is necessary.
Consequence management is important and part of self-respect.
My body doesn’t tolerate alcohol well anymore.
To celebrate is important, it also helps to integrate.
4. What are my biggest opportunities for growth?
Continue to ask the right questions
There is always room for more alignment, embodiment, integration and therefore integrity
Trusting myself
Movement, regular exercise and better posture
Face up my fear to be seen, judged and criticised
Step up, promote my business and services
Care about the right things and the right people
Be shameless
Faith
Swear less when I am angry
Continue to learn Portuguese
Shadow work through this entire list
